NuRide was brought to my attention by one of my co-workers and friends. She wrote a story about it for Worcester Mag (our employer). She is really into riding her bike and making sure she wasn’t leaving an eco-footprint. I was astonished this program existed.
Today, the New England Revolution announced it as partnering with NuRide. The Revolution will offer team related rewards through the online program.
From the Press Release:
One of the rewards NuRide participants can earn after just one week of taking greener trips is a $10 discount on a Category 2 ticket to a Revolution match.
NuRide is the nation’s largest rewards program for individuals who take greener trips — walking, biking, carpooling, vanpooling, public transportation, or even telecommuting. NuRide is a free service and is supported by sponsors who provide special offers to NuRide members for taking greener trips and reducing global warming, traffic congestion and energy consumption.
NuRide participants earn multiple benefits to joining the program:
- save money on transportation costs
- travel together in a carpool or vanpool
- cut greenhouse gas emissions
- trim carbon footprint
- reduce traffic congestion in the community or the worksite
- get rewards for tracking a green trip
