BROOKLINE, Mass. — The New England Revolution and Children’s Hospital Boston teamed up to open a greenhouse at the Yawkey Family Inn.
The Revs participated in a service day at the Inn and a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 26. Revolution players took part in various activities with children including picking vegetables, planting flowers, painting pumpkins, decorating cookies, playing soccer and bean-bag toss.
Players helped put together welcome kits for new comers to the Inn, sign autographs, take pictures and talk to the families.
The Yawkey Family Inn opened in the spring of 2009 and welcomes 23 families at a time at little or no cost while their children receive treatment at Children’s Hospital Boston.
The Revolution and MLS W.O.R.K.S. donated to make the greenhouse possible.
