Brazilian midfielder Diego was the Bundesliga’s top player a little over a year ago when he suited up for Werder Bremen. Then he made a big move to one of Italy’s most storied clubs, Juventus. Now, it looks like he will be heading back to Germany after one under-achieving year in Italy. The Old Lady won’t recoup all of their losses from the transfer, but with the arrival of Alberto Aquilani from Liverpool (on loan with an option to buy) it looked like it was only a matter of time before the playmaker was looking for greener pastures — Wolfsburg could be just the place.

U.S. international midfielder, Benny Feilhaber has been looking for a move out of Swedish club Aarhus GF during the transfer window. Feilhaber is looking for more first-team playing time and stronger competition. The 25-year-old Brazilian born American played in four games for the U.S. in South Africa this summer during the World Cup and had many clubs interested after his performance.

Toronto FC signed academy starlet Doneil Henry to a professional contract, making him the first player to sign such a contract from the club’s developmental system. The 17-year-old defender has already featured in the Reds senior squad in the final of the Canadian Championship game, CONCACAF Champions League match in Honduras and in a friendly with English side Bolton — Henry was named player of the match. The player will finish high-school and get his diploma, but he can now feature for the club in Major League Soccer matches.

The Champions League groups have been set and now the clubs look at the opposition they have standing in their way of Europian club soccer’s most cherished trophy. Roma will open their campaign with last year’s runner-ups, Bayner Munich, while Jose Mourinho has the always talented AFC Ajax standing in his way of a first European win in charge of Real Madrid. The most interesting match to watch may not be a match at all, Manchester United hosts Scottish champions Rangers at Old Trafford and police are already gearing up in preparation for rioting that could ensue as it did two years ago.
