The first week of MLS play started off just as most had expected. Seattle beat the newcomers, The Philadelphia Union, pretty easily. Los Angeles beat an ailing New England side, who didn’t go without a fight despite their short bench. Real Salt Lake picked up where they left off last season with a thumping of San Jose. The Texas teams played to a draw, Houston and Dallas, which is no surprise because they are on about the same level. Chivas struggled to score goals, like usual, against a tough minded Colorado side. New York beat Chicago in their home opener at their beautiful new stadium with a miraculous goal. Kansas City trounced D.C. United. And the Columbus Crew beat up Toronto.
Their weren’t man surprises in the result column, but their were some great goals. Here is a recap of all of them courtesy of ESPN.
